Small Firms look at Budget 2013

Mar 20, 2013 by admin

It is that time of year again when traditional media sources and social media outlets become a frenzy of commentary on the latest budget. Following previous budgets that have been largely disappointing for businesses and ridiculous taxes on pasties that were later amended SFS are hoping for a budget for business.

We are hoping for a reduction in corporation tax.
Improvements in apprentice schemes. The introduction of tax breaks or national insurance being removed for employers offering apprenticeships. We need to get 16-24 year olds in work or training.
A simplified tax system. There are too many loop holes and too much tax avoidance due to the over complicated tax system used in the UK.
Access to finance and loans for small businesses. The banks have been told to do more but the reality is they have not.

And on a final note the budget needs to stimulate growth. More investment in infrastructure is needed to create jobs.
