Companies House closure during February 2008

Companies House have been developing a new ‘information processing system’ that will be implemented this weekend. SFS hope that our clients will appreciate that updating the systems at Companies House will not be without its problems. Therefore Companies House has taken the decision to suspend some of their services from Friday 22 February 2008 to Monday 25 February 2008. The following information is taken has been issued by Companies House-

Important Notice regarding Companies House Processing Functions and the Temporary Suspension of Services

We are now approaching the implementation of the Companies House Information Processing System. This is a new system that will replace our old mainframe computer and give us more flexibility to develop our services in the future.

This is a major change for us. Our aim is to keep disruption to our services to a minimum. However, there is essential work that we need to do between Friday 22nd and Monday 25th February 2008, inclusive.

As a result the following services will be affected during this period-

The main website will remain open at all times but this will be limited
Companies House Direct and the WebCheck facility will be open on Friday but closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
XML Gateway and Webfiling will be closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

How will this affect SFS and Company Formations?

This will seriously affect the ability of SFS to form Companies in the usual working 2-3 hours. We will still be able to process Companies and submit them to Companies House but formations will not be completed until Tuesday 26 February 2008. Any submissions made after approximately 3pm on Thursday 21 February 2008 may not be complete until Tuesday 26 February 2008. Whilst we hope that Companies House will have all of their systems updated there may be some delays to our services as Companies House catch up with 4 days worth of submissions.
