The follow user guide explains how to file dormant accounts for a UK registered limited company.
All companies, including dormant ones with no trading history, need to file asset of accounts at Companies House every year. Failure to file company accounts by the due date can lead to penalties so company directors need to be aware of filing dates. A dormant company will also be issued with a penalty for filing late accounts. Dormant accounts can be filled online using Companies House web filing service. Online filing is the quickest and easiest way to file dormant accounts. You can post dormant account form AA02 to Companies House.
There is no charge to file dormant accounts either online or by paper at Companies House.
Please note that if you fail to file accounts or your annual return Companies House may take action to strike your company from the register. They may also take action against the company directors but this most unusual and companies are normally just dissolved with no further action taken.
